Nate's Letter Home - Feb 18, 2019

18 febrero 2019

Well Chacabuco is pretty nice. It`s a lot more chill than my other areas. It`s kinda like a whole ´nother country out here to be honest. There`s wide, paved roads, there isn`t garbage everywhere, and there`s a lot less noice. The people out here are really nice, but they`re basically all Catholic.

I don`t know if I told you but there are 6 missionaries in Chacabuco now. 4 elders and 2 hermanas. There used to only be 2 elders and 2 hermanas but President added more in this transfer because he wants this branch to become a ward. So we`ve got some work to do I guess.

Well when I got here we didn`t really have anything going on investigator wise, so this week we basically just contacted a lot to find some people to teach. We`ve found a few cool people, but we definitely have some more finding to do.

My companion is Elder Mendez. He`s from Pueblo, México. When he talks it reminds me of when I trained Elder Duarte because they talk exactly the same. It`s definitely a different spanish than what they speak here.

José, the guy we baptized last week, sent me a few messages. He said that his daughter got baptized this saturday! I hope that his wife and son get baptized too soon.

Well I don`t think I have much else to say. Oh and yeah, I don`t really know about the video calls and how that`s gonna work. We have permission to call on thursdays, which is our Pday. We´ll probably figure out something in the coming weeks so that I can give you a ring.

Anyway, have a great week!
