Nate's Leter Home - Feb 4, 2019

4 febrero 2019

Alright, I think this is going to be more brief than last week. I just got done sending in el registro de bautismo for Laura, and it kinda took a while.

The week ended on a good note, when we got 7 investigators in church yesterday. One of which was Hermano Alcaraz, the guy I told you about last week. The four of us (Elder Hill, Covey, Giraldo, and I) went and visited the family last night so that Elder Giraldo could do the baptism interview. He passed, and so for right now everything is still looking good for the baptism this saturday. Also, these two grandparents in our ward have brought 3 of their grandkinds that live with them to church the past two weeks. They`re not baptized, and they`re 9, 10, and 11 years old. We have been teaching them the past few weeks, and if we get permission from the parents, they will also be baptized this saturday.

We´re also teaching this capo named José. We contacted him for the first time about 4 weeks ago. We just clapped his house, and he came out and we started talking, and we ended up teaching all of Lesson 1 right there in his gate. Before leaving, I offered a prayer with him right there in the gate, and when I finished, I saw that he was crying. He said it was unbelievable the peace we had brought to him. The next time we came to his house, he let us right in and we sat down and met his wife, and his two youngest kids who still live with them. And when I say wife, I actually mean wife. He`s actually married! I couldn`t believe it. Well, we`ve taught him most of the lessons, and he`s been to church the last two weeks and he really likes it. His wife likes listening to us too, but she doesn´t seem quite as excited to go to church as José is. Hopefully we`re able to get her to church this next sunday. José possibly could get baptized this saturday, but we`ll have to see what happens.

I think that`s about all I got this week. Hopefully I`ll have a few baptisms to tell you about next monday. And I`ll know about what`s going to happen next transfer.

Have a good week!

"el registro de bautismo" = baptismal forms
"capo" = golden contact
